The popular Balogun market in Lagos is on fire again, barely 2 months after a policeman was killed and goods valued at millions of Naira went up in flames at the same market. The fire today, which started from a 4-storey building on Martins street has caught other buildings numbering around seven (7) and has destroyed goods worth over N500 million, excluding the collapsed buildings.
The fire was said to have been caused by a trader who was topping petrol in his running generator. The man, unfortunately, did not survive the inferno.
This fire outbreak is coming less than a week after the Amu Plank market fire, all in Lagos.
Balogun Ajeniya Market as it’s known is a market sprawling across many streets, on Lagos Island in Lagos, Nigeria. and is best recognized for sale of quality fabrics, shoes and all sorts of wares.
