The Osun State High Court sitting in Osogbo has sentenced the Chairman of Hilton Hotels, Ile-Ife, Dr Raheem Adedoyin to death by hanging over the murder of Timothy Adegoke, a postgraduate student of the Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU, Ile-Ife, who died in November, 2021 at Hilton Hotels, Ile-Ife, Osun State.
Also sentenced to death are Adeniyi Aderogba and Kazeem Oyetunde, two staff of the Ile-Ife, Hilton Hotels.
Justice Adepele Ojo the Chief Judge of Osun State, while delivering the judgement on Tuesday, also discharged and acquitted three other staff – Magdalene Chiefuna, Lawrence Oluwole and Adedeji Adesola. The seventh defendant however, will wait until Wednesday for the court to determine his fate.
The defendants were charged on an 18-count charge of murder, conspiracy, oath of secrecy among others.
