Imo Police Arrests Former Gov. Rochas Okorocha

Former governor of Imo State and Senator representing Orlu zone at the National Assembly, Chief Rochas Okorocha has been arrested by the Imo State Police Command for allegedly using thugs to break into the Spring Palm Apartments and Hotels said to be owned by his wife, Nkechi Okorocha, and which had been sealed by the Imo state government. Police Command spokesman for Imo state, Orlando Ikeokwu confirmed the arrest in a chat with journalists in Owerri, the state capital.

According to the Police spokesman, “the command received a distress call regarding … Royal Spring palm estate, and when our operatives moved to the place, we discovered that Chief Okorocha had led some persons into the estate hitherto sealed by the Imo government.

“The command invited Chief Okorocha on why he led the violent breaking into the estate”

The break-in turned sour when Imo state governor’s Special Adviser on Special Duties, Chinasa Nwaneri alongside his Youths Affairs counterpart, Eric Uwakwe arrived with thugs and engaged the other thugs in a fierce battle, destroying Okorocha’s security vehicles and gruesomely injuring his orderly according to media reports.
