Ogun delivers first palliative batch to victims of recent herders conflict in Ogun West

Ogun state government has delivered the first batch of foodstuffs to victims of the recent conflict between herders and farmers in the Ogun West Senatorial District within twenty-four hours after Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun’s promise to provide palliatives to victims.

Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Hon. Olaolu Olabimtan, who also doubles as Chairman, Subcommittee on palliatives disclosed that the Committee was in the area to deliver the palliative as promised by the governor, and also assess the damage suffered during the conflict as the government was taking a holistic approach at making the people comfortable.

According to the commissioner, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun” did make a promise that relief materials by way of food items and palliatives will be given to the people affected by the conflict and here we are on behalf of the Governor to deliver the first consignment of these relief materials. of cause you can be sure that it is a sign of better things to come.”

” Also, there is the issue of ascertaining the cost of what has been lost with a view of giving further relief, because people have lost their homes and businesses,” he said.

In his remarks, the Transition Committee Chairman, Yewa North Local Government, Bankole Babatunde David who hosted the team comprising the Commissioner for Special Duties; Barr. Femi Ogunbanwo, Commissioner for Housing; Jagunmolu Omoniyi and the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Special Duties; Kehinde Onasanya, appreciated Governor Dapo Abiodun’s kind gesture and promised that the palliatives will get to parties who suffered loss during the clash.
