Shoola Segun, male, 30-year-old man, on friday, was arraigned before an Ojo Magistrate Court in Lagos for allegedly beating Kamorudeen Ladi to a near death experience, at the First Gate Bus Stop in the Iba area of Ojo, Lagos State.
The defendant who pleaded not guilty to a two-count charge of assault and breach of peace, was arraigned before the Magistrate, Mrs D.S. Odukoya, in an offence which contravened the provisions of sections 168 and 173 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
According to police prosecutor, Inspector Esther Adesulu, the defendant committed the offence on July 1, the defendant had a misunderstanding with Ladi, a resident of Idi-Araba Oke-New Ire community in Ojo.
The misunderstanding prompted the defendant to allegedly punch to Ladi causing him to bleed from his left ear, and enter into coma.
Defendant Adesalu owever argued that Ladi and himself both breached public peace.
Magistrate Odukoya howver, allowed the defendant bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case until July 27 for trial.
