Igboho, who escaped a deadly raid on his Soka residence in Ibadan by the operatives of the Department of State Service on July 1, 2021, and was arrested in Benin Republic on his way to Germany on July 19 with his wife, Ropo. has vowed to continue his agitation on his return to the country.
However, in securing Igboho’s release in Cotonou, counsel, Chief Yomi Aliyyu, SAN, said they were obliged two conditions. “that he should neither leave the medical centre nor Cotonou for any reason”, in a deal facilitated by Prof Wole Soyinka and Prof Akintoye.
However, just yesterday, Igboho said in a widely circulated video that he will return to continue the Yoruba nation agenda and that the Nigerian Government owes him N20 billion compensation because the courts had cleared him of all charges.
Igboho said: “I’m coming back to Ibadan; I’m originally from Oyo State. I’m coming back home… Also, the N20 billion Nigerian Government owes me will be paid.”
