Yoruba nation army hijacks FRCN station in Ibadan

 

Five (5) persons wearing shirts with Yoruba nation Army inscription were arrested on Sunday, hours after hijacking Amuludun FM, a community radio station own by Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

Mr. Stephen Agbaje, General Manager of the station, confirmed the arrest of the five persons to a news medium on Sunday, saying “5 people have been arrested, four men and a woman”.

According to an eyewitness report, the suspects numbering about twenty stormed the radio station around 5.30 am and seized a studio while a sponsored programme was live. They hijacked the airwaves for almost an hour before they were arrested

Police revealed their names as; Noah Atoyebi ‘M’ 30yrs, Gbenga Adeleke ‘M’ 25yrs, Abdulganiyu Mustafa Kolawole ‘M’ 35yrs, Bashiru Kehinde O. ‘F’ and Fajola Elija ‘M’ 45yrs.

The suspects are in custody to help security agents with investigation.
